This is a full size, computer-generated picture of a cemetary at night. It was drawn completely on the computer, using only PC Paintbrush (a more advanced version of paintbrush) and Adobe PhotoDeluxe. Since this picture is meant to be viewed at a higher resolution than the format of my page allows, you can also choose one of the resolutions below the small picture to view the picture in that size. There is also an animated gif to show the process I went through to make this picture.

Tamboro - 1997; 7th Grade

To learn about taxonomic (or classification) keys in science, we were given a worksheet to classify different fictitious animals. (If you've read through the poems yet, "Double Trouble" was inspired by this assignment). This is a picture of a Tamboro. A tamboro is described as having one horn on its head, more than four legs, and a body covered with hair.

Skateroo - 1997; 7th Grade

The Skateroo was another ficticious animal for our taxonomic key study in science. A Skateroo has wheels for feet, two horns, more than four legs, and a body covered with hair. Here is what I thought a Skateroo might look like.

Earthquake Legends: India - 1996; 7th Grade

When learning about what earthquakes are and what causes them, I was required to learn some basic earthquake legends. In India, earthquakes were once thought to be caused by animals that held up the Earth. The Earth was held up by four elephants that stood on the back of a turtle. The turtle was balanced, in turn, on a cobra. When any of these animals moved, the Earth would tremble and shake.

Oscar the Tortoise - 1994/95; 5th Grade

I drew this tortoise one day in the fifth grade and named him Oscar.

Haunted Room - 1994/95; 5th Grade

I started drawing this, one day, because I wanted to draw a candle. Later, I added table, bookshelf, book, and window. Unfortunately, since it was drawn lightly in pencil, many of the details were not picked up by the scanner. Although the bookshelf shows up pretty well, the candle is almost completely lost.

Name Plaque - September, 1998; 9th Grade

To go along with my name essay, "My Own Search for Meaning," I needed to draw a plaque that showed what I thought of my name.

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" Poster - 1998; 9th Grade

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is a short story written by James Thurber. It is about a man who has all sorts of fanciful daydreams while running some erands with his wife. This is a one-page poster assignment that I made after reading the story.

In fifth grade, my teacher would have art contests every once in a while. There were two catagories: pencil drawing and color. I won first place for both of them. Here is the color entry that I drew for our Halloween contest.

This is another picture that I entered in my fifth grade class' Halloween art contest. This one was for the pencil catagory.
