Background
Key Club is a high school community service organization. The KEY in Key Club is actually
an acronym for Kiwanis Educates Youth. Kiwanis is the organization in which Key Club is
founded. Currently, across the globe, there are Key Clubs in seventeen different countries.
Key Club International is split into thirty-two districts. Each district is then divided
into several divisions. The divisions are comprised of the high school clubs. The Mt. Carmel
Key Club is part of Division 37 South, of the California-Nevada-Hawaii (Cali-Nev-Ha) District.
I have been an active member of the MC Key Club since the summer before my freshman year. I
have held the officer positions of Assistant Secretary, Secretary (for almost two years),
and I am currently one of the club's Co-Vice Presidents.
