DELUXE RENAISSANCE COSTUMES by THE LIKELY LOTUS BLUE
These beautiful, deluxe costumes, for the serious Renaissance follower, are perfect for Renaissance Fairs, Festivals, or Weddings. The patterns are researched and designed using period paintings to achieve authentic period styling, then sewn using high quality cottons, satins, and cotton velveteen (the closest contemporary fabric to period velvet).

Care Instructions for Likely Lotus Costumes
Gowns and Doublets: Dry Clean only. (Unless you sweat
profusely, the Chemise or the shirt should absorb most of the
soiling.) Our chemise and shirt fabric will actually help you feel clean all day long.
Bella Abita Italian Gown, Abita di Firenze, Ren Doublet, Bodices, Chemises,
Shirts, Skirts and Tunics: Machine Wash (delicate or gentle cycle, cool), tumble dry (cool.) To remove excess wrinkles, hang. Stubborn wrinkling may be coaxed out by hanging garment in the bathroom while showering, or by tumbling in your dryer on cool with a damp towel.
Spills and Spots on the dry clean Gowns and Doublets;
1. For small liquid spills and light soils (dropped a turkey leg dwn your front): First try to wipe out with a wet washcloth. If it soaked all the way through, the area
can be rinsed, but be careful not to wet more than necessary. Use
gentle soap such as shampoo or bar soap. Gently squeeze out
excess water. Don't wring it out as this will cause wrinkles
and crush the velveteen's pile. Hang to dry. When dry,
gently brush the velveteen to raise the pile.
2. Mud: Leave the mud to dry. Dried mud will brush off as the fabric breathes and moves the next time you wear it. So don't worry. It's okay if you get dirt and mud on it while wearing it at faire or outside. It comes right off. Amazing, huh?
3. Don't ever ever put the dry clean garments in the dryer when they're wet.
Dryers will completely ruin it. (Many satisfied customers have sucessfully used home-dry cleaning kits such as Dryell.)There may be wrinkles in the once
wet area. Gently shake the area and brush it briskly with your
hand. Don't iron as this will cause the velveteen's
pile to lay flat and be uneven with the rest of the dress.
4. For really bad spots (blood and the black smith's black soot): Get thee to a sink as soon
as possible and do the above steps. Then get thee to the dry
cleaners right away or machine wash as directed.
5. For large liquid spills (meade all over you): It's easier to dry clean
it and get it to the dry cleaners before it dries.
