Stroll along merchant's way in Florence while stopping to gaze at the frescoes and you just might see one depicting a lady in this gown.

The removable sleeves reverse to black and may be worn with cuffs covering the hands or turned back like French cuffs.
The open front cotton velveteen Gown laces through rings along the "V" neck in authentic style. As shown here, it looks nice worn over either a white or black Chemise and with or without the taffeta Underdress. The underdress can also be worn separately.

Trims may vary. This makes each garment unique so you won't run into some one else at a fair or event wearing the exact same outfit.

Wear the Abita Gown with or without the Abita Underdress.

Made of synthetic taffeta. It laces through rings on the back and sides to assure a proper fit.
Shown here with a silk jaquard chemise and purple purple satin waist sash.

Available in Sky Silver or Sunset Gold.

  • Instructions for Putting on the Abita di Firenze Gown

    1. Put on and adjust the chemise with the drawstring in front.
    2. Don the dress as you would a coat. The front of the gown has a cord tied to the end on the bottom ring. This should be looped from one side to the other till you reach the top of the rings. Loop the cord around the top two rings once or twice, then tie and tuck the end of the cord into the side of the dress. This style of lacing is nicknamed the medieval zipper.
    3. The upper rings of the arms are looped and same way. Place them over your arm and then lace back and forth from one side to the other until the top is reached. Fasten off. The wrist tie is just looped over the ring on the other side and tied.
    4. The part of the arm that extends below the wrist may cover the handor be folded up like a cuff. The whole sleeve may be folded to the back and fastened to its mate at the waist fo another option. In warm weather, the sleeve may even be entirely removed.
We hope you enjoy your Renaissance gown.
