Saturday, March 31, 2007 -- Farewell to Toby
He was a good cat. ![]() I thought I was prepared, but still it is very hard. Friday, March 30, 2007 -- Photo Hunters
Out of cat food? Oh no! Friday, March 23, 2007 -- Photo Hunters Photo Hunters is sort of a photographic scavenger hunt. Just for fun, it was started by TNChick in 2006 and has grown to include quite a few participants. Each week she posts a theme for a photo. Each person then interprets the theme in their own way, takes a representative picture, and posts it on their website.
The theme for this week is DRINK.
Is there really any nicer way to start the day than with a cup of tea? PH Info -- PH Blogroll Thursday, March 22, 2007 -- T-Shirt Saying Seen on a T-shirt - "If YOU don't talk to your cat about catnip, who will?" Wednesday, March 21, 2007 -- Pet Food So . . . I'm awakened this morning to the sound of rabbit bones crunching. Darn!! - Pip has figured out how to get out of the yard again. I took a rat away from him two hours earlier. Also - the pet food recall seems to get worse each day, with millions of cans of cat and dog food being pulled from the shelves; 42 brands of cat food and 53 brands of dog food. They don't even know yet what is causing the contamination. For a list of the pet food brands being recalled and information on the recall, click here - Menu Foods. Fortunately all of my cats are currently on a diet of dry food only. (Plus the occasional rodent.) Saturday, March 17, 2007 Friday, March 16, 2007 -- Curves I joined the Curves for Women gym a couple of weeks ago. An affordable, no frills gym, it offers a good beginning-to-get-back-in-shape workout; thirty minutes cycling through the use of fifteen different exercise machines with aerobic intervals in between, done three or more days a week. I am slowly working out the stiffness and increasing the range-of-motion in my shoulder which I keep repeatedly re-injuring. I've also already noticed an improvement in my elbow, which has never been the same since the surgery, and has been slowly getting progressively worse since the physical therapy ended. Hopefully I will be able to strengthen the muscles around my joints (shoulder, elbow, knees) so that they are not injured so easily or so frequently. And maybe lose a few pounds, too. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 -- Confusion For three days I was on the wrong date. Sunday I thought it was the 18th, Monday the 19th, and yesterday the 20th. I had a revelation when I noticed the due date on my library book and thought, "Wait a minute, I haven't had this book that long," and then I realized that even though we went to a St. Patrick's day dance last Saturday, the real St. Patrick's Day isn't until next Saturday. So I went back and changed all my dates, but in my confusion I seem to have lost a week, which is how I missed Kimberly's birthday yesterday. I did reach her on the phone last night and, of course, we plan to celebrate her birthday during spring break when she is home, but. . . . (Just a little belated) Kimberly said, "You know you're only supposed to spring ahead an hour, not a whole week." Yeah, apparently I over-sprung. I've had my days all confused this week, too. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 -- Conversation "Did I say that?" "Yeah." "I don't remember saying that." And I thought it was just me he didn't listen to, but apparently he pays no attention to his side of the conversation, either. Monday, March 12, 2007 -- Warning Painted in large red letters on a house window down the street from us - "Monsters Beware." Do they know something about the neighborhood that I don't? Sunday, March 11, 2007 -- Time Change It is time to "spring ahead" or as they are saying now with the earlier time change, "march ahead and fall back." We have twenty clocks in our house. Thats more than two per room. There was a time when we had a clock in the kitchen and a clock in the bedroom and that was it. Now it seems that everything we own has a built in clock. |
