| December 26, 2003 -- Christmas then and now. |
Christmas Morning --- (Then) - "Is it time? Can we start? When? When? When?" (and Now) - "Well gee, if we'd known they were going to be late, we could have slept longer." |
| December 23, 2003 -- Merry Christmas! |
| December 17, 2003 -- Shop 'til you drop. |
|
I have not even started my Christmas shopping. This is only notable because I am usually done well before November ends. Somehow this year the time has just gotten away from me. There is so much I still need to do and the time is getting shorter every day. But the amazing thing is, I don't feel stressed out about it at all. It will get done or it won't. Either way, it will be a wonderful Christmas. All the kids will be here and Kerry's whole family is visiting this year, as well. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone.
As for shopping, well, I have my lists and some ideas and I'm heading out on a marathon shopping trip today. I think I can finish it all in one day. I'll clean the house tomorrow. |
| December 13, 2003 -- Aloha. |
|
Yesterday as I was waiting for a phone call I was browsing Peppermint Tina's website.
I read, "I've always wanted to say Aloha to this woman! Aloha, Catsu!" Oh my goodness, I think, someone else has my same name. -- So imagine my surprise when I click on the link and discover it is me! "Oh my gosh, Kimberly, look at this," I say, "someone has actually seen my blog!" "Oh Mom, for heaven's sake, it's - the - IN-TER-NET.", she says, as though speaking to a toddler, while rolling her eyes as only a teenager can do. Well, OK, I knew that. But I just never thought about it. I write mostly for myself, to preserve memories and thoughts for later, and to keep the kids and other family members updated on what's going on. Actually, it just started as a fun exercise for learning HTML. So "Aloha back to you" from Su. I love the little glimpse of Hawaii I get from reading your blog. |
| December 4, 2003 -- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. |
| Once Thanksgiving has passed I am ready to start decorating for Christmas. It takes about a week to put everything up, as we have several trees and many decorations, and, like the story of the little chicken, no one else wants to help. Except perhaps the cats, and I actually could do without their help. They are so excited about decorating, racing around, climbing in and out of everything and up and down the trees. Trees in the house? What a good idea! Why didn't we think of this before?! This is the first Christmas for Pips and Purrz and a bit of a challange for me as they have already knocked one tree over twice. Luckily, it only has lights on it now. I hope to be able to put ornaments on in a few days, after the novelty of it wears off. I'm afraid my small village that goes under the tree may be doomed this year. |
